Ashworth Edge Drives
Edge drive units are designed to reduce tension to acceptable levels in applications where long belts pass through a series of turns and straight runs often resulting in tension levels which exceed recommended limits. Ashworth Edge Drives consist of high friction urethane inserts attached to a sprocket driven chain which operates in a low friction guide track. As indicated by their name, Edge Drives provide additional driving force to the conveyor belt. They are typically used in applications where long runs of belts pass through a series of turns and straight runs, which would otherwise cause the belt to exceed its recommended tension limits.
Ashworth Edge Drives are compatible with most Ashworth metal turn curve conveyor belts, including Omniflex and Omni-Grid. Friction driven, Edge Drive units do not require precise synchronization with the conveyor's sprocket primary drive, so they are easy to set up and maintain. Each Edge Drive is custom built for your specific application and is designed to increase the reliability of your conveyor system and reduce down time cost.

Ashworth Controls
Very few conveyor belts get to run on perfect or near perfect conveyors, or under constant conditions. Ashworth controls (Model Nos. 1 & 2) work with friction-driven metal belts to preserve the true tracking nature of the belts during changing conditions or production mishaps. Simple in concept, Ashworth controls out-perform the dynamic/shifting roll types of controls in the area most important to the production supervisor-getting the product on and off the conveyor belt in true alignment. Ashworth recommends our Model No. 1 Controls for most applications.

Ashworth Sprockets
SPROCKETS FOR EVERY BELT
Ashworth provides and stocks a very broad range of sprockets and toothless idlers designed to fit every conveyor belt we sell. Sprocket materials include cast iron, cast or machined stainless steel, or plastic. While most iron and stainless steel sprockets are cast, stainless steel is also often machined. All UHMWPE plastic sprockets are machined in order to meet individual application requirements. Special order sprockets may have round or square bores, set screws, flame hardened teeth or narrow hubs. Other special modifications and designs are possible on request.
